Salentica has created two different Step Layouts that can be set up in Elements Workflow Manager, Linear Steps and Concurrent Steps. Steps are the part of the Workflow that create a corresponding Task. You have the option for steps to be completed one after another in Linear order or multiple tasks can be started at the same time in Concurrent order. See below to learn more about how you can set up steps by using the Order to start one at a time, or start at the same time and complete before the next steps are started.
Linear Steps
What does it do?
Linear Steps mean that Step 2 will not start until Step 1 is marked as complete. Step 3 will not start until Step 2 is marked complete. Each step follows in numerical order.
How do I set this up?
Use the Step Order to determine which Tasks should be completed first. Steps will continue in numerical order. The Step and Order will be the same numerical value.

Concurrent Steps
What does it do?
Option 1
Option 2
How do I set this up?
Steps with the same Order are created at the same time; any following step is created only after all preceding tasks are marked Complete. In Option 1, Step 1 and Step 2 must be marked Complete before Step 3 is created.
Example:
In Option 2, Step 1 and Step 2 start at the same time. Step 1 and Step 2 must be completed before Step 3 and Step 4 start at the same time.
