Investment Policy Statement (IPS) Object on Elements

An Investment Policy Statement (IPS) serves as the roadmap for investment decisions, ensuring that a portfolio is managed consistently with the client's goals, risk tolerance, and time horizon.  These documents are often hard copy, signed documents that are reviewed during client review meetings to ensure they remain relevant and aligned with the client's goals and circumstances. We have added the IPS object to track the highlights of the document, making the information searchable and easier to report on. This allows advisors to prepare efficiently for client reviews without having to pull out paper files. Portfolios can have multiple IPS assigned; typically one active IPS in addition to any historical versions. The IPS can also be associated with a Model.

Creating a New IPS

The main way to create an IPS is through the Relationship. Open a Relationship record and click on the IPS Related List Quick Links and click NewFrom here, you enter the required and optional information about the IPS.

To access IPS from a holistic view, go to Elements Financial App > IPS. Here, you can manage a list of all IPS, including creating new or importing IPS.
