Data Broker: BD Trust

BD Trust, acquired by SS&C in 2020 as part of Innovest Systems, is a comprehensive administrative, operations, investment, and tax reporting product suite developed with growth, integration, and data security in mind. Software & managed services designed for the client markets you serve now and in the future.

Setting Up Your Daily BD Trust Update

User Setup

It is recommended that a dedicated CRM user be set up on BD Trust for use by Data Broker. The new user can be created by any firm user with an Administrator role. This user will be separate from what is used for the iFrames/Real-time Data. The user can be set up with any role, no particular access to the BD Trust site is required. The user should have access to all accounts the client wants fed to Data Broker. A naming convention that indicates the user's purpose (i.e. CRM BD Trust User) is recommended. When a new user is set up the firm must log in to the BD Trust site using the credentials to set up the user, ensuring that any and all terms and conditions have been satisfied before authentication in Broker.

User Permission

The recommended option at the account level is to remove the accounts from the user permissions on BD Trust. As stated above, the BD Trust user is not required to have a specific role. Admin users on the BD Trust platform are always given all account access. Users with different roles can be given access to specific accounts individually.

Data Mapping

System Administrators must set up Data Mappings in the Salentica Skyline solution for the financial account and contact entities. Please contact Support for assistance with Data Mapping.

Daily Bulk Load Data Available

The following data can be loaded in bulk by the daily Data Broker upload process from BD Trust to Elements:

Financial Accounts

  • Account Title

  • Valuation Date

  • Market Value

  • Principal

  • Income

Contacts

  • Full Name--First Name, Middle Initial, and Last Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Date of Death
  • Email Address
  • Phone Number
  • Address
  • Gender
  • Contact ID

If you need to upload Contacts from Elements to BD Trust in bulk, contact your Implementation Consultant or our Support team for assistance.

Setting Up Real-Time Controls

User Access to Real-Time Controls

The Real-Time Controls will use the individual user's credentials to access contextual data from BD Trust. No special setup is required. The Real-Time controls will only give access to accounts which the user has access to in BD Trust. If a user doesn’t have access to the account, no information will be provided.

Real-Time Controls

Real-Time controls will need to be added to the page/form layouts in a convenient place for ease of access.

Added via the Lightning Page Editor:

Setup Upload Contact Button

To enable the Contact Upload button, System Administrators must first map the data points in the Data Broker solution for the contact object. For assistance with Data Mapping, contact our Support team. Then, add the consolidated button to the contact page layout.

Elements can be customized by your System Administrator, so your views & access may differ from this documentation. Please contact your System Administrator with specific questions.
